The resignation of Fonterra Brands' managing director, Sanjay Kholsa, last Christmas was a surprise to those outside the company. Our New Zealand correspondent, Birger Nordmark, looks out the reason for the sudden departure. Fonterra chairman Harry van der Heyden confirmed in February that he knew Mr Khosla and his wife wished to return to North America to be closer to their two children in New York. That said, Mr Khosla's children are adults and have lived separately from their parents for some years.
