In the last issue of Australian Dairy Foods, we highlighted sections of Dairy Australia's Dairy 2007: Situation & Outlook report that related to the domestic dairy market. The second part of our coverage highlights global market conditions. The globaldairy market is producing unprecedented high commodity prices. World milk powder prices have already surpassed US 4,500/tonne dollar, more than double the levels of a year ago. World prices for other commodities have also increased, albeit at a slower pace. World cheese and butterfat prices are 30% higher than a year ago.
