Falling production at home is continuing to contribute to strong competition in the global market for the limited supply of fresh dairy products available. The impact of the drought on milk production showed in January, with a second consecutive monthof double-digit month-on-month decline, writes Dairy Australia's industry analyst - Australia, Peter Wilson. Nevertheless, weather conditions are looking more favourable, with signs that the highly anticipated 'autumn break' will restore some much-needed soil moisture and put water into storage reservoirs.
