Indonesian coal output remains on track to reach a 2020 target of 550mn t set by the energy ministry (ESDM), despite the global Covid-19 pandemic weighing on global demand and on mining operations. Indonesia’s year-to-date coal production stood at 526.4mn t as of 15 December, according to government data, represent- ing nearly 96pc of the ministry’s annual target. But actual production is likely to be higher because of reporting lags, the ministry said.
