The DIAA took a bold step forward in May, when it staged its first national conference at the Grand Hyatt in Melbourne. The result was a thoroughly professional conference which, while national in nature, borrowed elements from the various State-based conferences, which enhanced the overall experience. David McCaughan, from McCann-Erickson Asia Pacific, explained the aspirations and motivations of Asian consumers to DIAA delegates. McCann-Erickson - Asia Pacific carries out a continuous program of consumer research called McCann Pulse, which produces information about the tastes and preferences of consumers in all major Asian markets.
