摘要

More than 5500 people from 80 countries attended Australia's biggest environmental conference and trade show, ENVlRO 2002, at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in April. ENVIRO 2002 focused on sustainability in environments ranging fromdeveloping to developed countries. The exhibition contained many homegrown, innovative and cost-effective environmental management systems that could be plucked off the shelf for use in the agricultural and dairy sectors. "Foreign delegates had not realised Australia had such a rich pool of environmental technologies, while ... politicians became aware of the sheer size of the environmental industry," Dr David Garman, president of the International Water Association, told the conference.
