The Trans Mountain Expansion (TMX) crude pipeline in western Canada has received regulatory approval to deviate from its route, a decision that will likely save months of delay for the project. The Canada Energy Regulator (CER) on 25 September sided with Trans Mountain in its request to reroute a small portion of the 590,000 b/d TMX that is in the final stages of construction. The regulator said its reasoning will be released in the coming weeks.
