The 'Pearl of the Orient/Shanghai, China, served as the venue for the International Dairy Federation's annual World Dairy Summit and 27th World Dairy Congress. Dr Geoffrey Smithers, from Food Science Australia, shares his experiences of the events, held from October 16 to 23 October this year. Shanghai, a dynamic and flourishing city of some 20 million people, was a fitting location for this flagship event, where more than 1500 delegates and officials from 80 countries gathered to discuss some of the key issues and opportunities facing the rapidly changing global dairy industry.
