China’s largest steelmakers reduced steel output in mid-Sep- tember to the lowest since April 2020, as power cuts, mainte- nance and other restrictions deepen production cuts. China Iron and Steel Association (Cisa) member mills low- ered crude steel output to 1.9914mn t/d over 11-20 September, down by 2.6pc from the previous 10 days and by 7.2pc from a year earlier.
