AFRICA-FOCUSED junior Afentra has struck a deal with Azule Energy worth up to $84.5 million to boost its stakes in shallow-water acreage offshore Angola. Angola is a core area for the ambitious London-listed player, which last year acquired stakes from Croatia's INA in blocks 3/05 and 3/05A and is now buying the entire interest held in the acreage by Azule - the Eni-BP joint venture. Afentra will acquire a further 12% in Block 3/05 and 16% in Block 3/05A for as much as $84.5 million, including a firm payment of $48.5 million and contingent payments of up to $36 million.
