The isotropic coke used as filler in the production of structural graphite must have invariant characteristics-in particular, its microstructure. Complete elimination of anisotropic structural elements (of length >10 mu m) in the coke structure is difficult. In the present work, a new approach is considered for reducing the content of regions with microstructure score >2 (according to State Standard GOST 26132) in coke: forced removal of distillates by inert-gas injection in the reaction mixture.
