Limited!s acquisition of a 50 percent interest in Girotto Precast Pty Ltd in October last year has been followed by Hanson Australia Pty Ltd's acquisition earlier this year of one of the country's largest precasters, Rescrete Industries Pty Ltd. Is committed to growing the Australian industry Girotto Precast is a highly innovative and well-established Australian precast concrete company, which has become a major contributor within the precast concrete panel industry. Established in Melbourne in 1987, expansion in 1997 into NSW with the building of a larger facility saw the overall company's capacity of production increase by more than 120 percent and the number of employees increase to its present level of over 100 employees. In November 2003, the company acquired Transtilt Pty Ltd, near Newcastle, and increased its production in New South Wales by approximately 50 percent. Each of Girotto Precast's manufacturing facilities produces precast wall panels, columns & beams for industrial, commercial and residential developments although the main focus is on the industrial wall market.
