Quality is king on the island

On a small, remote island in the middle of the Bass Straight, where cows outnumber people 45 to one, dairying is big business. Since it was built in 1902, King Island Dairy has become an iconic institution, turning out some of the finest cheese and dairy products in the country. The dairy's other claim to fame could be having one of the youngest quality managers in the country. Claire Perry is only 26, but she has plenty of cheesemaking experience, as well as great pride in her work and the island where she grew up.
