THE PHILIPPINES Government announced that it intends to order a further 32 Sikorsky S-70i Black Hawks. A notice of award has been issued to Sikorsky subsidiary PZL Mielec in Poland for the procurement of the combat/utility helicopters and a supporting logistics and aircrew training package. The Philippines ordered an initial batch of 16 S-70is in 2019. Philippines' defence secretary Delfin Lorenzana said the plan is for the first five aircraft from the 32-unit order to be delivered to the Philippines Air Force in 2023, followed by ten in 2024, ten in 2025 and seven in 2026.
