State-controlled producer Coal India (CIL) raised its Novem- ber output by 4pc on the year to 53.8mn t, the highest since March, helped by the onset of the post-monsoon dry season. CIL’s production last month rose by 2.1mn t from a year earlier, according to preliminary company data, an increase of 4mn t or 8pc on the month. November’s output of 53.8mn t was the highest since March when the company mined 81.2mn t of coal.
