When most of us started in the drilling industry, the first thing our new employer did'was ensure we had the basic safety training required (if it existed) and then sent us to the rig.Then the waiting game began while our colleagues watched our performance. If we were deemed worthy, our employers might invest in us and send us to a training class but most rely solely on 'on-the-job' training.
