Summit CO2 Pipeline Hits Snag With Permit Denial

A major carbon capture and storage (CCS) project in the US hit a snag last week when NorthDakota’s Public Service Commission (PSC) denied a permit to build a multibillion-dollar CO2pipeline to a storage site in the state. The PSC said Friday that it had denied Summit Carbon Solutions’ application for a siting permit forthe Midwest Carbon Express CO2 pipeline, which would pass through fi ve states, including about320 miles in North Dakota.
