Spot prices in China's domestic thermal coal market firmed up in the past week with a slowdown in supply ahead of the Lunar New Year holidays. More power plants in north China came into the market trying to grab spot cargoes to bring their inventories up to 30 days in preparation for the Winter Olympics.
