Defying broader macro-economic data and reports of belt-tightening at consumers withexpectations that Germany could soon follow the UK in registering a double digit inflationprint, demand from the semis industry is still reported to be strong. This is partly due to theseasonal reduction in output to coincide with the holiday season, so that rod mills havegenerally been running below capacity while retaining orders that have allowed them toreserve judgement on the health of the market until at least the middle of next month.
