Response to letter to the editor

By invitation of the Editor we would like to respond to Professor Brian Hoyle's comments on our article entitled: "User Evaluation of Two Electronic Mobility Aids for Persons Who Are Visually Impaired: A Quasi-Experimental Study Using a Standardized Mobility Course" appearing in Assistive Technology, Volume 24, Issue 2, pp. 110-120. Concerning Professor Hoyle's comments on the methods, we think that we have addressed most of the points he makes already in the results and discussion section of our article. Of course we are aware that training and extensive practice is needed to use any kind of mobility aid for persons who are visually impaired in an appropriate way.
