Egypt Launches Upstream Bid Round

Egypt has launched a new bid round for international oil companies (IOCs), offering 23 blocks as it seeks to boost its output ofhydrocarbons amid a looming gas supply crunch. Companies have until Feb. 25 to submit bids to Egyptian General Petroleum and South Valley Egyptian Petroleum Holding Co. The blocks are located in the North African country's Western and Eastern deserts, the Gulf of Suez and the Red Sea.
