摘要

Carbon fiber products have a number of functional characteristics in addition to mechanical characteristics. The thermal conductivity of carbon fiber is greater than other materials; particularly pitch-based high-modulus carbon fiber indicates a value comparable to metal. It is utilized such as for panels to efficiently release heat generated from equipment on satellites. The thermal expansion coefficient of carbon fiber is close to zero, and yet it shows a negative value, indicating extremely good dimensional stability to temperature changes. It is utilized for space observation and satellite antennas that are exposed to considerable temperature changes.
