Ciudad Sandino, marge urbaine en peripherie de Managua ?

In spite of its peripheral position, Ciudad Sandino is one of the urban components of the Nicaraguan capital This territory reveals the socio-spatial connections between Managua and its margins. They are broadly based on the manifestations of the "natural" risks and the policies of differentiation. Nevertheless, the inhabitants of Ciudad Sandino do not resign themselves to the socio-spatial exclusion which denies their anchorage in the town. Collective practices allow social links which limit the effects of the spatial marginalization. They also allow the demand for a "citadinity" which is acquired through the practice of the urban territories of Managua, The resident thus refute a collective isolation coming from the coincidence between both spatial and social situations. However, the revival of the differences, partly provoked by the redefining of the administrative limits, questions the socio-territorial construction of Ciudad Sandino.
