Foreign Investments Up 30% in Value

According to the Ministry of Investment Planning, foreign investments during January-May 2003 numbered 235 projects, and the value increased by 30% compared to the same period of last year to US632.96 million. The increase in capital of 147 existing projects amounted to US380 million. New and existing investments totaled US1.013 billion, up 14.4% compared to the same period of the previous year. The average value of the investment projects rose from US1.77 million to materialized during the five months increased by 6% to US950 million.
