Leather Finds Its Feet

After having declined in 2001-02 and 2002-03 by 1.4% and 6.3% respectively,exports of leather products (raw and finished leather,goods such as handbags,leather garments and footwear)registered a growth of over 5%,in the fiscal year ending on March 31,2004.Tentative estimates place exports in 2003-04 (April-March)at Rs 87.20 billion,which is almost USus2 billion.
