Guangdong Apparel Exports Drop to EU

Because the EU has increased trade barriers in recent years,Guangdong's exports of apparel and apparel accessories to this market show a sharp decrease during the first quarter of 2004.Local customs statistics for the first three months of this year indicate that apparel exports from this province,China's largest apparel maker and exporter in south China,to the EU fell by 18% from the same 2003 quarter to USus110 million.Especially,exports to Germany,Denmark,the Netherlands and Austria plummeted more than 20%.
