Raymond has recently expanded its denim capacity to 20 million meter/year, and now Mafatlal between Mafatlal Industries Ltd. of India and Burlingotn of the U.S., has announced plans for expanding its capacity from 10 to 20 million meters. At present, most of the denim producers are earning decent profits. Those who manag ed cotton purchases well have even earned high margins last year, the most notable example being Arvind Mills.
