Although China's caprolactam (CPL) production has rapidly increased in recent years,its supply still cannot meet the needs of the market at home.As a result,imports of CPL have been increasing year by year from 244,900 tons in 2000 to 306,000 tons in 2001 (accounting for 68.2% of the country's total consumption) and to 320,400 tons last year when domestic production reached 170,500 tons.
