摘要

The problem of biocompatibility of implants used in reconstruction surgery and traumatology is rather urgent and attracts attention of specialists. An approach to the solution of this problem is modification of the surface to increase its biological activity.There are the following directions of this research worldwide.1. Development of new biological materials (e.g., silicon-substituted hydroxyapatite (Si-HA), zirconium oxide ceramics, etc.). The new biological materials are very promising in their properties. However, medical application of these new biological materials requires further research into implant properties. This research should be directed toward careful selection of physicomechanical characteristics of the material, effect of implant wear products on construction conservation and the human body, evaluation of the effect of aggressive chemical medium of the human body and the environment on the implant, etc.
