The Issue: Representatives from the petroleum industry contacted Hernon Manufacturing seeking a pipe thread sealant for DEF engine systems, holding tanks and mass distribution lines. The synthetic urea used in the DEF process is corrosive, sensitive to contamination and prone to leaks so any solution must be resistant to corrosion, non-contaminating and be a reliable sealant.
