Beijing— Zhejiang Petrochemical Corp. (ZPC) is looking into new technologies, including the direct processing of crude into olefins, to lower carbon emissions, reported Reuters citing ZPC Vice President Liu Minghui. ZPC and Tsinghua University in China are working together to develop crude-to-olefin know-how, which is expected to cut the carbon footprint by nearly 50 compared to the conventional process of obtaining feedstock for petrochemicals during the crude refining process, noted Liu.
