Diacetate Rapidly Changing Supply-Demand Picture

After Celanese Acetate LLC announced its withdrawal from diacetate filament production,Diacetate yarn prices have continued to rise.Including Celanese's output,the total world's diacetate filament production was 88,000 tons.The breakdown is:the U.S.,43,000 tons;Japan,10,000 tons;Italy,10,000 tons;Spain,7,000 tons;Korea,8,000 tons;and others,10,000 tons.From this total,23,000 tons of Celanese's output will disappear.In other words,65,000 tons will be a new global production.A sharp decline in the volume of yarn that accounts for 25% of the diacetate filament production has begun to affect the supply-demand situation for diacetate considerably.
