Retail Sales Down in 1st Half

According to the Japan Department Stores Association,the total sales of 99 firms covering 287 stores decreased by 5.7% in June compared to the same month of last year.Sales in the first half of the year declined by 2.0% from the year before to 3,801,564 million yen.
