Unconfirmed reports say India's sole producer of VSF (Viscose Staple Fibre)Grasim,which now has a capacity of 251,850 ton/annum (two composite plants and one pulp plant)has decided,in-principle,to set up a 40,000-ton plant in China.Group officials have been visiting China for some time.Grasim also has VSF units in Indonesia and Thailand with an aggregate capacity of about 150,000 tons.Thus,Grasim has a worldwide capacity of at least 400,000 tons,which makes it the largest VSF producer in the world.Grasim accounts for nearly a fifth of global output of VSF.
