Textile Exports Up 23%

Exports of textile goods surged by 23.31% during July-May 2002-03 compared to the year before to US6,147,83 million. Textile goods accounted for 71.46% of manufactured exports (US8,980.67 million). More than 36.05% of foreign exchange earnings from textile products were however accounted for by semi-processed categories, such as cotton yarn and fabrics.
