Policy Forum: Intergen+10: Ten Years of the Intergenerational ReportsFunding and Providing Aged Care: Lessons from the Last Decade

This article examines the future funding of aged care in the context of the Intergenerational Report. Noting the predicted substantial increases in aged-care costs, it argues that the current funding of aged care, which imposes high and likely risingco-contributions on care recipients, should be replaced with comprehensive aged-care insurance. It also recommends improving the transparency of the Intergenerational Report and the sophistication of its sensitivity testing.
