Surprise growth in handloom exports

Though the data has come in very late because of changes in export procedures,exports of handloom fabrics and made-ups appear to have grown impressively in the previous fiscal year.Between April 2002 and January 2003 (10 months),exports of fabrics rose from USus83.34 million to USus148.97 million,while exports of made-ups (bed sheets,terry towels,table mats,etc) rose from USus279.59 million to USus307.38 million.
