Japanese jeans chain stores achieved favorable business results in fiscal 2003 due to positive merchandising efforts,the reform of shops and good service in order to meet shoppers'demands.Various losses were eliminated by overall restructuring.Mac House Co.,Ltd.had record sales and profits.Sales of jeans for women and children increased by 1.2% on a same store basis.The company has 80 stores at shopping centers.National private brands were effectively for increasing gross profits.Fashion advisers (part-timers)were introduced to promote shopper-oriented business,which resulted in an increase in sales.
