Winds of change: Wood energy and self-sufficiency

The winds of change are blowing, not just in the U.S. Presidential race, but in the forest industry as well. Six months ago, there was hardly a peep about bioenergy and carbon credits. Now you can't open a paper or turn on the radio without seeing orhearing a reference to it, and even prominent government leaders, such as New Brunswick's Energy Minister are talking about the promise of bioenergy. How did this apparent sea of change come about? The thing about change is that most people think they want it, but they really don't. Oh, sure we'd all like to improve ourselves a bit, shed a few pounds, be kinder, gentler, become a better person. Isn't that even New Brunswick's new official mantra - be better. These kinds of changes consistprimarilyoftrnkeringwith the current model, not getting a new one.
