Island beef's 2012 plans take shape

The winter months haven't slowed down the activity at the P.E.I. Cattlemen's office. With a number of issues to deal with, and some projects underway, there is always a lot to do. The approaching deadline for the repayment of the Severe Economic Hardship Advance Payment Program (SEHAPP) loans on March 31, 2012, has kept us very busy. We have had a meeting with Minister Webster, and asked that he contact Minister Ritz with some of the recommendations we have. Gail Shea's office has also been contactedand they too are raising our concerns in Ottawa. Within the province, we have been working closely with other groups on this as well. We have always maintained that as the deadline approached, so too would the concern from other provinces.
