2012 is off to a solid start as all classes of cattle continue to increase in value. Look for continued strength into the spring as grassfeedersandcowswillexperiencetheirannualspringhighs. Feeder prices have all-time eastern Canada highs in recent sales, with many good quality 500-700 weight feeders selling for $900-$l ,000 per head - great returns for producers and long overdue. This is at a time when we are approaching our normal grass season high for prices (April and May). Producers should be confident that spring feeder marketing will be exceptional this year.
