The automotive industry is beginning to see many developments to expand customer facing features through the implementation of Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) technology. The presented invention provides a proposed feature set which would utilize UWB anchors strategically placed throughout a vehicle. With the addition of these UWB anchors, the user experience can be improved uniquely for each vehicle occupant. Independent occupant zones become progressively more important with the increase of ride sharing. This invention describes a vehicle (1) having UWB anchors (2) in each position where an occupant is designated to reside, and further expanding the experience with a paired microphone (3) and speaker (4). The first algorithm is an improvement to emergency calling. With the use of UWB in both audio and emergency call features, the level of personalized care that can be provided is unparalleled. At the same time providing redundancy in the event a microphone or speaker becomes disconnected. Each emergency response agent can be notified of the number of occupants in the vehicle, and with the use of the UWB anchors, microphones, and speakers be able to inquire about any injuries independently. If 1 or more of the occupants is unresponsive, the emergency response agent can switch the Microphone and Speaker to a responding occupant.
