Endotoxaemia is a common and severeclinical condition affecting horses.Leukocyte activation plays a keyrole, and it may be useful to establishwhether available therapeutic agentsmay have actions complimentary tothose of non-steroidal anti-inflammatoryagents in the treatment of endotoxaemiain horses. Clenbuterol has antiinflammatoryeffects on leukocytes andmay be effective in reducing cytokineproduction. Therefore this drug may be abeneficial adjunct to treatment protocolsfor endotoxaemia.
