Also, the floods in Thailand and other unexpected events occurred one after another. However, the nation's production of nonwovens remained at about the same quantity as the previous year. Things began to brighten up from the second half of 2011, such as the fact that the automobile industry began to increase their production. Although there are increasing uncertainties about 2012, it will probably be a year when Japanese nonwovens producers will take steps to advance to the next stage, such as strengthening overseas business operations, the development of new products and applications, etc.
