Business Prospects for India India-Japan EPA, a Tailwind for Promoting Trade

The value of trade between India and Japan is historically of extremely small scale due to various circumstances including political stability, location, quality control standards and the presence of China as the "World's Factory". Japanese imports from India totaled US$344.5 billion in 2009, while Japanese exports to India amounted to no more than US$569.6 billion (figures from Japanese Ministry of Finance 2009 Trade Statistics), and accounted for only 2-3% of the total.
