Is our Acadian forest a 'closed shop': Might there be room for Western Red cedar?

The following is based on an article by Donald P. Fowler published in June, 1981, in the Forestry Chronicle, which tells the story of a successful introduction of Western Red cedar (WRC) to Nova Scotia nearly a century ago. Recently Atlantic Forestryvisited the site with treemen Les Corkum and Bill Joumeay, and while no measurements were taken, photos tell something of the story of vigorous and fast-growing WRC.
