Changing direction: N.B. Christmas tree association adopts new outlook

There have been a few changes going on with the New Brunswick Christmas tree industry over the past few years. Perhaps one of the most significant has been transferring government responsibility for Christmas trees from the Department of Natural Resources back to the Department of Agriculture and Aquaculture (DAA). A new title, the Christmas Tree Industry Association of New Brunswick (CTIANB), has been adopted to reflect a general renewal and as a means to more completely involve the Christmas greenery business into the provincial association. In addition to adopting a new organizational logo, the association elected a new President: Sophie-Michele Cyr. Cyr is a (second generation) Grand Falls-area producer who brings a fresh and dynamic view of the industry's potential, and the direction it must take to be successful and grow.
