摘要

Bringing beef and sheep farmers together for a mini-conference and pasture tour makes good sense. That was clear last month, on Oct. 22, when the last in a series of such events coordinated by AgraPoint was held at Agriculture Canada's research farm at Nappan. Not only was there a good turnout, there was a more up-beat mood than can be expected from a purely beef crowd, even now despite better prices. That could be changing. Les Halliday, Prince Edward Island's beef development officer and one of several fore-noon presenters at the Nappan pavilion, said that over the last six months he'd been getting "more calls from beef guys saying, 'Can you find me some cattle?'"
