European coal price volatility decreases again

The volatility of Argus’ daily European coal price decreased for the eighth month in a row in May, as the market continued to settle after a period of historical volatility throughout most of 2022. Annualised volatility of NAR 6,000 kcal/kg cif Amsterdam- Rotterdam-Antwerp physical coal fell to 66pc in May, down by 10 percentage points from the same month in 2022.
