MY EXPERIENCE IN THE ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY has made very clear to me that relationships are critically important to a successful and fulfilling career. It is key to talk and connect with people, and only then can you truly learn from them and bring those lessons back to your own business. My involvement with NECA has been very rewarding for that reason. Over the years I have had the amazing opportunity to meet and learn from many people in our industry, and I know these conversations have shaped my business and personal decisions every day. Even outside of fellow NECA contractors, I've enjoyed creating relationships with clients, industry colleagues, experts of other trades and everyone in between. Now in my third month as NECA president, I've had the honor to travel and meet with people from all over the industry, building relationships that have helped me think about our work in new ways. In January, I attended the MEP Innovation Conference, a joint meeting featuring contractors from NECA, the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) and the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association (SMACNA). Leaders from all three trades came together, and the result was a celebration of collaboration.
